November in the parks
In these days, when Fall appears in Barcelona, and you don´t
feel like going to the beach everyday, there are other places to
walk and rest: Barcelona parks.
Apart from the famous Parc Güell (which deserves its
fame, no doubt about it), there are many other options to visit… Here
you have some of them.
Parc Güell
Designed by the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí, this park is
one of the most important works of Modernism. It also has a “wild” part
that is really attractive!
Olot/Carretera del Carmel/Coll del Portell
Buses 24, 3, 32, 74, 92,116
Metro: Vallcarca (L3)
Note: It´s better to go by bus, because if you go by metro, you
have to go up –literally- nearly 500 metres, and the escalators
generally don´t work, at least in some parts of the path.
Parc de la Ciutadella
This park is just behind the “Arc de Triomf”. It has a
lake with ducks, nice trees and it´s quite big. It´s ideal
to take a long walk on a sunny afternoon and even to visit the Science
Museum buildings that are inside its lands.
Pg. Pujades /Pg Picasso/ Zoo Wellington
Buses: 14, 39, 49, 41, 42, 51, 141, B 25
Metro: Arc de Triomf (L1)
Parc del Laberint d´Horta These are the oldest
historical gardens in Barcelona, and they are intact. Their labyrinth
shape is an invitation to lose your way, literally!
Germans Desvalls/Pg. Castanyers
Buses: 10, 27, 60, 73, 76, 173, B19
Metro: Mundet (L3)
Jardins del Palau Robert
Right in the
centre of the city, at the corner of Passeig de Gràcia
and Diagonal, you can take a deep breath in the middle of a nice trees
and plants environment. You just have to enter the nice Palau Robert
building and start to walk…
Córcega
Buses 6, 7, 15, 16, 17, 22, 24, 28, 31, 33, 34, 39
Metro: Diagonal (L1 y L3)
Jardins
de Mossèn
Costa i Llobera
Of internationally
recognized value, these gardens include an important cactuses collection.
Av. Miramar
Buses: 38,50, PM
Parc Central de Nou Barris
This park contains more than
thirty species of trees and is situated around the Dosrius aqueduct,
which used to supply water to the city in the 19 th century.
Plaça
Karl Marx/Pg. Fabra i Puig/ Marie Curie/ Pi i Molist
Buses: 31, 47, 73, 76, 82, 122, 173, B19
